Public Consultation regarding changes to The Riverside Library Opening Hours

Pembrokeshire County Council is currently facing its biggest financial challenge to date and like other council services, the Library Service is required to reduce its running costs to assist in the effort to deliver a balanced budget.

We believe we can reduce our running costs at The Riverside with limited impact on you by removing opening times, which get very little use.

We know that Bank Holidays and the 6 Sundays that we open during the school summer holidays (i.e. July and August), are very quiet. We are therefore proposing that the Library does not open on the 5 Bank Holidays (Good Friday, Easter Monday, May Day, Spring Bank Holiday and the August Summer Bank Holiday), nor on the 6 Sundays during the school summer holidays. We think this will have much less impact on you than closing during the week or on a Saturday.
